Yes the brutal treatment of the Indians by the White man, and the brutal treatment of women by both races. I hope it wasn't as bad as portrayed in the book, but I can only guess in reality it was. The adventure is a page turner, and I read until my eyes blurred!! There is a surprise waiting on every page or so it seemed to me. This book was free to me, and I am purchasing the other 2 in the series. Thank you Amazon and Ken Coleman. Keep writing.

This review is from: Cheyenne Dawn (Rachael's story) (The revenge sequels) (Kindle Edition) This is the first review I've ever written but I wish someone would have said this book DID NOT have a happy ending! I guess life is so hard that I like to read historical romance because they always end happy. Even with all the violence and suffering the heroine was subjected to, I was loving the story just assuming it would be happpy for her in the end. Needless to say I was disappointed and thought about it for two days. It is the first book that I deleted from my library because I didn't want to ever read it again. For those of you who don't mind sad endings the book was great! Personally, I will stick with women authors in the future.

This review is from: Cheyenne Dawn (Rachael's story) (The revenge sequels) (Kindle Edition) I've waited to write a review of this book because the story was so powerful in my opinion. While there was a great deal of violence shown to the heroine, I suppose life was fraught with peril back in the days following the Civil War and the settlement of the West. Sometimes, tho, the violence seemed unbelievable and gratuitous. The hero was uncommonly rude and uncaring toward "his woman." There was never a dull moment in the story and my heart ached for how the white man treated the Indians, both then and now. I would recommend this book, but only to a mature audience. Not for the faint of heart or under 25 age group.

This review is from: Cheyenne Dawn (Rachael's story) (The revenge sequels) (Kindle Edition) A bitter sweet story of life on the plains, with the inter action between the Cheyenne the army and settlers ..Very rich emotion, enough action and movement for a man to enjoy , which in romance books is not always a story men will read, and with a different twist than most stories of this type. I truly enjoyed this book.

What a wonderful story of love and survival. It is a continuous good read with some humor of the characters getting to know &care for one another. I can hardly wait for the next sequel. The sadness of the story is portrayed in our history books.

4.0 out of 5 stars it was interesting, November 10, 2013 By Amazon Customer - See all my reviewsAmazon Verified Purchase. This review is from: Cheyenne Dawn (Rachael's story) (The revenge sequels) (Kindle Edition) Couldn't make up my mind which character I wanted to kick???? The pompous Cheyenne warrior or the woman whom seem to be put on this Earth to be a victim of the cruelties of men!!!! The only one that seemed remotely a heroin was the little girl, didn't expect that! Read this story to see what I'm talking about, it's pretty good!
